Its Hard to Dance in Chains - "Nehéz láncban táncot járni"
Do snapshots taken on the street can tell anything about our society? I think yes! Naturally the viewpoint of the photographer and the viewer, determines the story.
I think that good art is always critical in a sense. It has to highlight problems and phenomena which are hard to describe with words.
This selection shows photographs taken in a 10 years time period in Hungary from
2012 to 2022.
I tried to be democratic in a sense that humans, animals and objects are represented equally as subject to photography. What intrested or moved me, or I found interesting I photographed.
The title of the series is a rare Hungarian saying, which I think represents the series, and us as well.
Is this documentary, art or "street photography"? Everybody can decide for themselves. All I hope is that these pictures will move the viewers and evoke
thoughts on our society that we live in, or at least we lived in this 10 years, in Hungary.
